Category of HKIUS Membership
HKIUS members are divided into two major categories, namely, corporate and non-corporate. For both membership, they are further divided into professional and non-professional grades.
The following classes of HKIUS members are classified as professional.
- For individual membership: Grade of Manger, Fellow and Recognized Professional Utility Specialist (RPUS).
- For Corporate membership: Group A, B & C.
- Student membership
All the corporate members are eligible to vote at all HKIUS AGM and EGM. However, only the individual professional (M / F) members may become RPUS (Recognized Professional Utility Specialists), Professional Auditors, Trainers. In addition, only Fellows who have served the institute are eligible to be elected as the President or Vice President of HKIUS.
The entry requirements of HKIUS have been clearly defined in its Constitution while applicants are yet to be assessed by professional interview for all the corporate (O / M / F) membership.
Types of Membership (會員種類)
Individual Members
1) Associate Member – AMHKIUS (助理管綫專業監理員)
Membership is open to all persons who is working in the utility survey industry. All Associate Members shall be entitled to participate in all activities organized by the Institute but have no voting rights.
Annual Subscription: $500
2) Operative Member – OMHKIUS (管綫專業監理員)
Membership is open to all persons who have worked in the utility survey industry for at least 3 years. All Operative Member shall be entitled as Full Member and be granted rights to attend, elect, be elected, propose and vote at all activities.
Annual Subscription: $800
3) Manager Member – MHKIUS (管綫專業監理師)
Membership is open to all persons who have obtained an accredited / recognized Degree or the equivalent and has been a full member of HKIUS for at least 5 years or a full member with at least 10 years relevant working experience. All Manager Member are entitled as Full Member and be granted rights to attend, elect, be elected, propose and vote at all activities.
Annual Subscription: $1,000
4) Fellow Member – FHKIUS (管綫專業監理師(院士))
Membership is open to all persons who have obtained accredited / recognized Degree or the equivalent and is working in the utility survey industry at least 8 years or as a non-degree Manager Member for at least 8 years plus at least 15 years of relevant working experiences. All Fellow Member are entitled as Full Member and be granted rights to attend, elect, be elected, propose and vote at all activities.
Annual Subscription: $1,200
5) Recognized Professional Utility Specialists – RPUS (管綫專業監察師)
Candidates for election to the class of Recognized Professional Utility Specialist shall satisify the council who are eligible or have been an Individual Corporate (Professional) Member of HKIUS and have been working in Hong Kong for the utility related industry for not less than 2 years.
RPUS (apart from those also as Individual Corporate Members) are NOT Voting Members, and those who have paid the entrance fee and the annual subscription and shall be obliged to attend, but shall not be entitled to elect, accept election, propose and vote at all activities organized by the Institute.
Annual Subscription: $2,000
Corporate Members
1) Corporate Company Member – CCMHKIUS (公司會員)
Membership is available to all organization related to utility industry for 3 years or above. All Corporate Company Members shall have rights to attend, elect, be elected, propose and vote at all activities.
Minimum members required and associated to your company :
Group A (3 valid members in the same discipline), Annual subscription for corporate: $3,000.00
Group B (6 valid members in the same discipline), Annual subscription for corporate: $5,000.00
Group C (10 valid members in the same discipline), Annual subscription for corporate: $10,000.00
2) Sponsor Company Member – SCMHKIUS (贊助公司會員)
Be supportive to the utility survey industry.
Annual Subscription: $3,000
Student Members
Membership is open to all full time students, NO application fee and annual subscription are required.
